Branching

In the branching phase of the methodology, two subproblems have to be created. In this phase, the feasible set of solutions is split by the value of the selected variable. It has to be checked which value of the selected variable provides the higher value of the objective function (either x1=0 (equation 175), or x1=1 (equation 176)). The two subproblems can be described by the equation systems presented below.

The content of the book fits to the teaching program of the subject titled ‘Decision making methods’ taught at Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) Faculty of Transportation Engineering and Vehicle Engineering.
