Neuroglia

Neuroglia consists of specialized cells of the nervous system that perform a variety of supportive functions and assist to impulse conduction. There are different morphological and functional types of glial cells. All types present in the central nervous system are called central glia, while the ones that can only be found in the peripheral nervous system are categorized as peripheral glia.
