Access to data

Access to data is probably the most crucial challenge. In many countries, access to data is still severely regulated by government bodies and is highly restricted. However, the Open Data experiences in a number of leading countries in the area of open government are showing the impact of Open Data on the performance of these governments and the value they deliver to customers and citizens. However, in many developing countries, access to data despite clear benefits is still lagging behind, even if some countries have the skilled workforce and the technology to use Big Data. ‎[33]
