Fluid Mechanics Measurements

Areas and objectives of fluid flow measurements

Fluid flow is measured in several application areas where processes of heat and fluid flow have an important role – this means, without exaggeration, all fields of industry. Not intended to be exhaustive, some examples are provided herein for the application areas: various fields of process industry (e.g. food, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, metal processing), production of building materials; environmental techniques; power generation; heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC); clean and wastewater management; oil and gas industry; hydraulics and pneumatics. According to the various measurement demands, a wide variety of experimental techniques have been elaborated and are under continuous development, for serving the various industrial sectors.
