As the scope of the investigation focuses on two movies only, no hasty conclusions should be drawn as for translating films into English and from English in general, and it must also be considered that the translators’ personal preferences can also influence the results.

Another limitation is the categorisation of translation methods as domesticating or foreignising. As Ramière puts it, “the taxonomies of translation strategies based on that model cannot, in fact, adequately capture the pragmatic complexity of cultural transfers in film” (Ramière 2006: 161), and Van Poucke also mentions that the degree of foreignisation or domestication should also be considered based on the reasons for the choice of method. Therefore, it is questionable whether such a categorisation could be used as a general taxonomy.

However, as the taxonomy seems to work well in the two directions, it can be regarded as a working one. There are always exceptions to the rules, so some modifications may be necessary in many cases, but the categorisation provided above seems effective.
