The novelty of this study in the field of ICT research in the Hungarian university context was that it managed to establish several subdimensions of technology use as well as look at the interconnectedness of the dimensions. The questionnaire study also managed to establish a link between learners’ acceptance of ICT devices and Digital competences, signalling that positive attitudes towards digital technologies are linked to better usage. What the questionnaire study was not able to look at because the research method belonged to the quantitative paradigm, was the exact reasoning processes, customs, and ways of technology use of the target population, which necessitated conducting an interview study in the same context. The results of this will be presented and discussed in section 4.3.
