To date, there has been no complete theoretical monograph about the topic of sustainability and law. The aim of our research project is to create one, seeking to clarify the evolution, place and role of the connection between sustainability and law in Hungarian, French and German studies. Furthermore, we shall expect valuable results from examining the concept of Anglo-Saxon, the Russian/Soviet-Russian and European Union law, and the points of view of Japanese, Chinese etc. scholars’, too. Moreover, our purpose is to present a critical view and develop it further by collecting and comparing thoughts of different scholars on the topic. Our study systematises and develops the theories of legal scholars and other theoreticians on the question of sustainability and law in the past, present, and future. Relations between sustainability and law are examined via the different tools of administrative law, environmental law, and the other relevant studies, such as ecological science etc.
