In order to meet customer requirements, the group covers all stages of value creation, from research and development, through certification and validation, to industrialisation, production and logistics. They are able to deliver complex systems and equipment in large volumes to their industrial customers because Melecs' Austrian research and development department designs and implements cost-effective solutions tailored to individual needs, which are then translated into industrial processes in close cooperation with the manufacturing departments and sites. Good examples of this are the developments in the field of electronic control units for all-wheel drive passenger cars, drive chains and DLP technology. The company has achieved significant cost savings in all these areas thanks to its innovative solutions. The use of electronic, mechanical and thermal simulations as early as the design phase is extremely beneficial for Melecs' customers. The development process covers all necessary aspects: from hardware development, design, PCB layout, software and firmware development to environmental certification and testing (including B-sample testing). Melecs' safety and requirements management system enables control units to be developed in accordance with strict safety regulations. Component management and procurement functions are located within the R&D department, ensuring that decision-making processes relating to new products are characterised by speed and flexibility.
