Management methods for innovation transformation

Reward system

The existence of a reward system and the knowledge that employees who submit innovation proposals can receive additional payment for their ideas that are implemented clearly encourages an atmosphere and spirit of innovation within the company. Ideally, this is a cyclical activity, with some employees submitting ideas at shorter intervals than others. Some people are so attuned to idea management that they submit new development proposals on an almost monthly basis. It can also be observed that when someone joins the company, they have more development ideas to submit, as new eyes see more opportunities for rationalisation and feel the urge to prove themselves and fit in.
Audi Hungaria operates an extremely varied benefits and incentive system to ensure that employees who submit innovation proposals remain highly motivated and do not tire of brainstorming or feel that it is a chore. Experience shows that top innovators perform their everyday work to a high standard, have a wealth of practical knowledge and are up to date with trends in their field. They typically have a huge appetite for information, are happy to think about ways to streamline their workplace, and welcome the various types of rewards offered by the company. These can range from small gifts (e.g. key rings, water bottles) to more valuable prizes. Savings of over EUR 1,000 are rewarded with a fixed cash payment. In addition, the Idea Management team provides various rewards for innovators within the company. There are campaigns and promotions for which special prizes are also given to the idea generators, such as tickets to sporting events, theatre season tickets, wellness weekends with unlimited car use, monthly or annual car use, and various adventure trips. It is important to note that in the case of promotions, every idea submitter also receives a small gift package. At the same time, it is not enough to offer the same prizes every year. A company umbrella may not be sufficiently inspiring for every idea submitter. It is important that the rewards themselves are varied and that there are always new opportunities to stimulate the imagination and creativity of employees, giving them the chance to "play" for new prizes. The most successful prizes fall into the categories of experiences, entertainment and time spent with family.
