Innovation and excellence

Management methods for innovation transformation

Encouraging ideas and innovations

Short summaries and photo illustrations of previously successfully implemented developments are available to employees. All employees can search for every idea submitted and supported in recent years. The up-to-date database helps them to come up with truly new and previously unrealised ideas. In addition to providing assistance via email and telephone, the Idea Management team regularly moderates idea-generating workshops for specific areas of expertise, "spints" aimed at further developing ideas, and company tours with employees.
From time to time, various technology companies are invited to the company's event centre, where employees can view cutting-edge solutions. The annual innovation gala, where the best implemented ideas are presented, occupies a prominent place in the series of inspirational events. Showcases of the results of university collaborations serve the same purpose indirectly. At the same time, it is difficult to single out the most effective support method, as experience shows that each incentive method contributes in some way to the functioning of the system, the high number of ideas submitted each year, and the millions of euros in savings.

The aim of the book "Innovation and Excellence" is to inspire and encourage company leaders, managers, and experts to initiate and implement innovation transformations with the help of professional literature and corporate case studies. Another important goal is to help develop the innovation capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises in particular by sharing simple, proven management methods that can be tested in practice.

The first part of the volume reviews the factors of corporate excellence and success, then highlights the possible sources of innovation, with a focus on the role of users and employees. The empirical section presents a detailed description of the supportive role of the workplace environment and creative working conditions based on corporate case studies (AUDI, BOSCH, MELECS). The volume concludes with a description of selected tested practical methods and management techniques that readers can try out in their own businesses.
