Management methods for innovation transformation


Concept

The Audi Denkwerkstatt team consists of nine experts and coaches who are embedded in the local and global innovation ecosystem. Every six months, 15 internal Audi entrepreneurs can participate in the programme through a selection process. Colleagues from any area of the company, level and age group can apply to develop new digital business models with the aim of developing ideas related to the motto "Mobility – beyond the car." The teams work cross-functionally, independently of each other and with maximum customer focus. They work according to agile values and use various methods, from lean startups to design thinking. The aim is to open up new markets and customers for Audi and to develop new business models independently or in collaboration. To this end, they work with internal and external partners throughout the entire development process. After the programme, the internal entrepreneurs return to their original positions, where they act as multipliers for the programme. They represent entrepreneurial thinking, a new culture of collaboration, customer-centric work and agile thinking.

The aim of the book "Innovation and Excellence" is to inspire and encourage company leaders, managers, and experts to initiate and implement innovation transformations with the help of professional literature and corporate case studies. Another important goal is to help develop the innovation capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises in particular by sharing simple, proven management methods that can be tested in practice.

The first part of the volume reviews the factors of corporate excellence and success, then highlights the possible sources of innovation, with a focus on the role of users and employees. The empirical section presents a detailed description of the supportive role of the workplace environment and creative working conditions based on corporate case studies (AUDI, BOSCH, MELECS). The volume concludes with a description of selected tested practical methods and management techniques that readers can try out in their own businesses.
