Management methods for innovation transformation

Talent management and providing an inspiring environment

The company systematically searches for market deviations and disruptions, for which they try to develop solutions. They try to identify deviations that are in synergy with the technological competencies and machining background of the MouldTech Systems group, as well as its talent development programme. They try to give young talents tasks that pose serious professional and technical challenges. They mentor young talents from the region with high IQs playfully, without controlling them in a Prussian manner or dictating their daily activities. They give them problems, goals, and tasks that pose professional challenges, and they continuously discuss their ideas and progress with the owner-managers. They consider it important to provide them with a creative and inspiring environment, which is physically separate from the production unit. They strive to form a real community, which they shape together with the managing director, former university researchers and the mentored talents.
The owner feels it is important for developers to be "icons" and "stars" who can serve as role models for others. They want to make it cool to be an engineer, to invent something and to work with such icons. This is fundamentally different from the working environment of multinational companies, and they deliberately try to attract those who want to achieve something.
Mapping social and potential customer needs is a critical factor for engineers and developers, yet it is currently considered a knowledge gap in Hungary. It is not worth manufacturing anything for its own sake; needs must be anticipated in a timely manner. In fact, due to a lack of perception and translation skills, domestic SMEs are unable to carry out independent development activities. And even if they have ideas and plans, they need to know what technology and specialised machinery they need to acquire to manufacture new products, which is capital-intensive and risky. But this is the only way to become a product manufacturer.
