Innovation and excellence

Management methods for innovation transformation

The role and method of communication in talent management

It is very important for participants in the talent management programme to be regularly asked by company managers about their progress and any dilemmas they may have. There should be communication channels, they should be monitored on a daily basis, and they should talk to the members of the development team. It is important for developers to know that they are not alone, that company management is interested in their work and appreciates it when they try something new, accomplish something or fail at something. Encouragement and attention are very important for employees with a developer mindset, as is the absence of retaliation in the development centre. This is in sharp contrast to the work carried out in a manufacturing plant, where there can be no rejects or defective products.
The ability to recognise various deviations and differences and to focus on them is particularly important in a research environment. Training and skills development in this area would be essential for developers. Regular weekly developer meetings are held where current issues can be discussed in an informal atmosphere, which is critical to the success of development work.
