Social relations

A social relation refers to a relationship among individuals. It includes direct and indirect interactions, ranging from low-level face-to-face interaction to high-level interactions like reading books or following traditions. Similar to online social network data, trace data implies social relations among individuals living in a city. For example, frequent co-presence, which means the occurrence of two or more people together in the same place and time, indicates that those people may have some social relation such as classmates or colleagues.
