Smart City

Lowry’s model (Spatial Interaction Model)

Lowry’s Model of Metropolis (1964) was the first attempt to implement the urban land-use transport feedback cycle in an operational model. The model is based on Gravity theory from Newton’s Law. The distribution of demand data is a function of attractiveness and travel costs associated with places.
