Management Consultancy in Central and Eastern Europe

Consultancy in a Global Context

Expert Is Needed

Good organization development consultants pay a lot of attention to process, in other words, how change is done, in addition to what is done. If, say, in a department something does not work well, the consultants interview employees, analyze the data, and feed the data back to the department. People in the department have to resolve the identified issues by implementing changes, and after some time, assess how well these changes work. If the changes do not resolve the identified issues, then the people in the department have to reenter the problem-solving phase. Part of the work of the consultant is to guide the process (process consultation), rather than giving solutions (expert consulting). Participation is very important in the change process, as people tend to resist a solution that is imposed from the top. Collective wrestling to find the solution to a problem, and then implementing it, makes it easier for people to adopt this change.
