Having surveyed the literature of ICT inclusion in university programmes with reference to the secondary and university contexts of English Studies and EFL teacher education majors at Hungarian universities, it can be said that there is a need for conducting a comprehensive study into the ICT literacy and use of both learners and instructors. As technology is in constant development as is closely linked to its context of inclusion (Lim, 2002; McDougall & Jones, 2006; Sutherland et al., 2004; Vygotsky, 1978), findings and implications of the study could inform future research as well as pedagogical practices about how to include technology in English studies / EFL teacher education programmes in a learner-centred way.
