Fluid Flow Systems

Stationary flow of compressible fluids in pipelines

After a review of the theoretical knowledge required to model compressible fluids, this chapter presents the equations describing steady isothermal and adiabatic pipe flows. An example of a compressible fluid flow is a natural gas pipeline flow. Sample exercises related to the material section are given at the end of the chapter to review the knowledge acquired. There are numerous sources of literature on the subject; some examples are [19], [20], [21], [22].
