Dr. Tim Gittins

Originally from the United Kingdom, he has lived and worked in Hungary since 1996. From an agricultural background, his first degree was in Agricultural Economics, awarded by the University of Reading (UK), following which he worked as an administrator in the British government for the Department of Agriculture. He began his teaching career by following a post-graduate degree course in Further Education with the University of Cardiff, Wales, and worked as a business studies lecturer in South Wales for five years before coming to Hungary. He also holds a MBA from Henley Management College (UK) and obtained a PhD in SME internationalization from Johannes Kepler University, Linz, Austria, in 2018. During his time in Eastern Europe he has formed his own business consulting company and has worked at several universities. He worked on a summer school program at the University of Birmingham (UK) in 2009, and from 2010 until 2020 worked as an online honorary lecturer for the University of Liverpool on its MBA and MSc programs, specializing in entrepreneurship and leadership. He has worked at Corvinus since 2019 and specializes in teaching entrepreneurship. His research interests are diverse and he has published articles on SME internationalization, human capital and informal entrepreneurship. In addition to his native English, he also speaks German and Hungarian.
