Business Management

Starting up, Growth, Development

Difficulties and dangers in determining the value proposition

One of the most difficult tasks in developing a business concept is in locating how potential customers perceive differences in technological and artistic values and features when deciding to purchase a product/service. It is often the case with startups that their value propositions contain elements that they consider to be important and valuable, but this is not always the case for potential customers if they perceive products/services on offer to be of proportionately lower value than what they are willing to pay. It is therefore necessary to determine a value proposition, by accounting for empathy and sensitivity to the needs of potential customers. It is also a common feature that IT programmers, for example, produce technological ideas in product/service form that require significant intellectual effort in their development, but there is little workable idea of how they can be utilized by potential customers in a marketable form.
