As no courses on linguistics were offered to students during the programme, thematic knowledge was not expected to change between the first and the second year of training. Paired samples t-tests confirmed this hypothesis: as can be seen in Table 27, no significant differences were found between beginning-of-studies and end-of-studies test scores in either the total sample or the subgroups (HT and PE).
