Time taken to complete the translation and the post-editing task was measured at the end of the second year, too, and human translators and post-editors were compared once again. The independent samples t-test showed that, similarly to the first data collection wave, the difference between the two groups was not significant (M(HT) = 42.95 min, SD (HT) = 8.02, M (PE) = 37.49 min, SD (PE) = 9.50, t(23) = 1.49, p = .15), although there was a tendency for post-editors to work faster than human translators.

Similarly, differences between B English and C English students concerning time on task were tested for significance. Independent samples t-tests indicated that there were no significant differences either in the HT (B English (n =4 ): M = 42.30 min, SD = 6.65; C English (n = 6): M = 43.38, SD = 9.43, t(8) = –0.20, p = .848) or in the PE condition (B English (n = 5): M = 38.11, SD = 0.70; C English (n = 10): M = 37.18, SD = 11.82, t(9.13) = 0.25, p = .809). Consequently, the two groups can be regarded and analysed as one group.
