Translators and post-editors were asked about their experiences with the task in the second year, too. First, data on perceived task difficulty will be presented. The figures show that, just like in the first year, most aspects of the task were rated neither too difficult, nor too easy (that is, of about average difficulty) by both groups. The independent samples t-tests indicated that post-editors found their task in general easier than human translators (Table 21). The difference between the two groups is small, but significant. No further statistically significant differences were found between the groups concerning the difficulty of the different aspects of the task (Table 21).

As mean values for the different types of difficulties were exactly the same in the HT group, no further tests were carried out. Nevertheless, a repeated measures one-way ANOVA was performed in the PE group to find out if the perceived difficulty of the various aspects of the tasks differed significantly. The Mauchly’s test indicated that the assumption of sphericity had been met (χ2(2) = 3.833, p =.147). The repeated measures one-way ANOVA showed that mean error numbers did not differ statistically significantly (F(2, 28) = 1.811, p = 0.182), suggesting that, similarly to human translators, post-editors have not perceived any differences between the aspects of the task in terms of difficulty.
