Instead of conclusions: public transport, the car, and the ‘state car’

Commenting on the proliferation of the car and the irresistible pull of automobility, the artists of Ludas often deployed their talents to the critical scrutiny of conditions obtaining in public (collective) transport. They understood and openly objected to the fact that the infrastructure of public transportation as a whole, including such means of urban transport as the bus, the streetcar, the commuter train and, later, the subway, were all the stepchildren of development policies. No doubt, they were also aware that those social groups who were most dependent on public transport also had the weakest voice in society.

Történelem

Az egri Eszterházy Károly Főiskola újonnan alakult Történelemtudományi Doktori Iskolájának közleményei az iskola oktatóinak és (a jövőben) doktoranduszainak közös kutatási eredményeit teszi közzé. A sorozat első darabja – a „Magyarország története 1918-tól” program oktatóinak munkája – tematikus tanulmánykötet. A benne szereplő írások többsége a magyarországi szovjet típusú rendszer poszttotalitárius korszakával foglalkozik, és ahogy címe is sugallja, az állam és a társadalom interakcióinak jellegére fókuszál. A jobbára mikrotörténeti elemzések a felügyelet intézményeiről, ezek gyakorlatáról, illetve egyes társadalmi csoportok magatartásáról, stratégiáiról szólnak. Húsz évvel a történet lezárta után is folyik a vita a szovjet típusú rendszer jellegéről és mérlegéről. A sorozat első kötete ehhez szeretne hozzászólni.
