This phase of the study was conducted at the same international school in Budapest examined in earlier chapters. The participants were six parents whose children were studying in Year Groups 7, 8, or 9 at the school. The students’ enrolment periods ranged from one to eleven years, reflecting a varied but generally extensive level of exposure to international schooling. The participating parents included a medical doctor, an academic, a psychologist, consultants working in a non-profit organisation, and a pedagogue. Five of the participants were expatriates who had lived in Budapest between three and sixteen years, while one was Hungarian and had spent fifteen years in an English-speaking country. The parents originated from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. They were selected using non-probability sampling, specifically convenience sampling, based on their availability, accessibility, and willingness to take part, as suggested by Dörnyei (2007). My previous teaching experience with their children helped build rapport and facilitated voluntary participation.
