Abstract: The two key participants in the youth development system are the coach and the player. Their talent, commitment, professional effectiveness, and finally, their close cooperation lay the foundation for joyful sports and possible sports successes. They are actors in the youth development system of sports, they are members of a specific club, and they are who implement their club’s professional program. The talented coach and the talented player ideally become the outstanding individuals of a well-functioning and consistent organization, rather than finding themselves in the role of individual heroes forced to fight heroically within the club. The conscious operation of clubs presupposes that the club management manages its resources, including its coaches and players. The clubs’ management, their efficient operation, and their measurable performance are determined, among other things, by the professional and managerial preparation of the leaders, and their management activities. Through their clear thinking, communication and cooperation which are based on their club’s vision, the managers are able to involve both the trainers and the players in their efforts to achieve their common goals. They are aware of the necessity of a predictable organizational background for all stakeholders of the club. Coaches and players are – in a lucky case – proud participants of the club’s activities, but in a less fortunate case, they suffer from it. Semi-structured in-depth interviews with the coaches of professional team sports point out the critical points of the operation of the organizational background provided by the club.
