Consider the simple network shown in Figure 6.2. In a closed system, cooled water is delivered by a pump to the boiler to be reheated. The hot water then flows to the heat exchangers (radiators), where it cools down and the process repeats. For modelling, heat transfer only occurs in the boiler, and the heat exchangers; i.e., heat transfer via the pump and piping is ignored.
