First, an introduction is given on explicitation, followed by a summary of research on explicitation in interpreting. Next, the introduction of the methodology used in this investigation is detailed. Then, results of the analysis of the target language texts are presented, providing details on the frequency of explicitation (explicitation shifts for 100 words of the target language text), and the most frequent types of explicitation shifts in the target language texts. The chapter closes with a discussion and summary of the results.
