The results of the content analysis are in line with the results related to expertise in interpreting, namely that the accuracy of the target language texts of interpreter trainees improved as they progressed in their training (Liu, 2008). However, in the case of two students, this progress was not linear, which is in line with the results of the PACTE Group’s findings on the development of translation competence (PACTE, 2014).

When looking at fidelity or accuracy in consecutive interpreting, it has to be noted that the analysis itself could be challenging, as interpreters work based on a mental model (Setton, 1999) and not only based on the source language text, and, during consecutive interpreting, a relatively high degree of compression is expected from the interpreter.
