LSP Lexicography
Summary
It may be concluded that the paper-based dictionaries of agriculture and environmental protection published in Hungary in the last 15–20 years are visually appealing and easy to use. Their vocabulary is relatively large and accurate. However, they do not meet certain requirements of modern dictionaries: most of them are not thesauri, and do not contain the definition of concepts, reference to contexts or example sentences. Very rarely are these volumes proofread by a professional; experts of the field point out this deficiency regularly. In addition – with regard to, among others, general language – it would be advisable for these specialized dictionaries to observe the spelling rules of specialized language more consistently. It is very positive that the dictionaries published recently have CDs. However, today there is a strong demand for corpus-based, easy-to-search online dictionaries that rely on proofread texts. We do hope that such works will soon be created in the fields of agriculture and environmental protection.

The present volume introduces us in the history of Hungarian mono-, bi-, and multilingual LSP lexicography, its theoretical evolution, outlines its broader and narrower fields of research and the tasks ahead. Moreover, the studies have undertaken to investigate and give an account of the history of lexicography covering various special fields and providing a critical analysis of the dictionaries involved. Last but not least, the new technology extending the concept of LSP lexicography is presented. A kötet bevezet bennünket a magyar egy-, két- és többnyelvű szaklexikográfia történetébe, elméletének kibontakozásába, vázolja szűkebb és tágabb kutatási területeit és megvalósítandó feladatait. A tanulmányok ezen túlmenően felvállalták néhány kiemelt szakterület szótártörténetének kikutatását, bemutatását, a felkutatott szótárak kritikai elemzését, de sor kerül az új technológia bemutatására és ezáltal a szaklexikográfia fogalmának kitágítására is.
