Anxiety, Coping, and Flow

Empirical studies in interactional perspective

Introduction

An essential starting point for theorizing and for empirical research on stress and anxiety reactions is that they are elements in an integrated, temporal process. In this process perceptions and cognitions, emotions, physiological processes, and actions are involved. This report is concerned with how individuals handle situations in which situationally induced anxiety reactions occur, in terms of three aspects of the temporal process, namely perceived predictive control, perceived behavior or action control, and coping style.
