Az angol nyelvű kiadvány a fenntarthatóság és jog monografikus jelleggel kevésbé bemutatott sokszínű kérdését alapvetően a közigazgatási jog szempontjából dolgozza fel. A fenntarthatóság nemzetközi jogi, EU jogi, a hazai jogi környezet és alkotmánybírósági, rendes bírósági gyakorlat bemutatása mellett olyan egyéb jogi kultúrák is bemutatásra kerülnek, mint a Kínai Népköztársaság, vagy az Oroszországi Föderáció jogának elmélete és története. A fenntarthatóság általános elmélete mellett a környezeti alkotmányosság bemutatása is helyet kap a kötetben. A környezet- és fenntarthatósági jog sajátos kérdése a hulladékgazdálkodás, az építési jog, a föld- és talajvédelem, az állatvédelem és növényegészségügy, valamint az erdészet igazgatásának nemzetközi és hazai jogi kérdései. Az egyéb jogi és történeti aspektusok körében a szegényjog és a fenntartható szociális igazgatás, a közigazgatási szerződés és a hatósági szerződés mellett az egyéb országok helyi igazgatása is feldolgozásra kerül.
